Shorts aren’t everybody’s favorite, and sometimes they’re just plain hard to shop for. If you’re looking for some cooler choices, there are a few different options that you can go with. Casual dresses feel wonderful on a hot day, and don’t look too fancy. Depending on how much leg you want to show, you can choose a tea-length look or even maxi for fuller coverage. The As Potluck Would Have It Dress is a perfect summer classic. Not only is gingham a hot summer trend, but this dress is 100% cotton, making it totally breathable. If you are not a skirt or dress lover, then something like the Jive Got a Feeling Pants in Red or Black are a fantastic pant to go with. They are cropped and able to be dressed up or down for any summer occasion!
Wedding season is the perfect time to show off your best summer fashion. Because a lot of summer weddings tend to be partially outside, which can get pretty hot, going with a breathable and lighter dress makes for a much more comfortable daytime and evening. Remember, it’s always best to steer clear from the colors white, cream, and ivory — you don’t want to steal any shine from the bride. Summer is the perfect time to mix it up with some color and floral prints. By doing this, the concern of matching any color of the bridal party is completely gone — and I guarantee you’ll receive oodles of compliments! I am loving the You Haute to Be There Dress by BB Dakota. Not only are the colors flawless, this fit-and-flare style looks great when you’re dancing the night away!
This is the time of year to let your concert fashion fly! A lot of summer concerts are outdoors, which allows for a much more low-key and casual-chic look. Boho is an awesome concert and festival style go-to. I’m a fan of the kimono jacket — adding one of these to any look creates an effortless texture and flow to your outfit, not to mention a tiny bit of warmth for an outdoor, nighttime show. As for footwear, I suggest wearing something comfortable enough to dance and walk around in. Pick something with a slight heel for a comfortable, fashionable look. The Seychelles Impossible Booties would be great at a concert scene, and you can keep wearing them into the fall season.
Everyone’s tastes are a little different when it comes to homecoming dresses — short or long, more or less formal. A lot of dresses are able to be dolled up or down with jewelry and accessories. I find with homecoming, any color goes. This is the night to show off your personal style, so the sky is the limit! The With Style and Lace Dress in Teal by Eva Franco would make for such a dreamy and elegant homecoming dress. This teal beauty can be worn with flats or heels and will have you feeling like your own modern-day Cinderella.
