Craft Supplies and Couture? The Art of Izziyana Suhaimi

Back when I owned a whirlpool mess of embroidery skeins, I was 99% sure that the paramount piece one could produce with the thread was a friendship bracelet. I’ve since discovered that I was acutely mistaken. Singaporean artist Izziyana Suhaimi takes these kitschy craft supplies and gives them a fashionable makeover by stitching them into her already impressive illustrations. With their fashion inspiration, punch-in-the-gut colors, and stark good-lookingness, Suhaimi’s work has reworked my expectations of what simple craft supplies can do.

The detail in the hair, the colour of the print on the garment and the whole proportion is breathtaking!!! Well done and thank you for posting ModCloth Blog.
