I saw you on the ModCloth Blog. You were reading the post I wrote about Sophie Blackall’s Missed Connections art. I was smitten with her charming illustration style and the simple concept of reworking these guilty-pleasure-reads/Craiglists ads into adorable artwork, and judging by how you couldn’t take your eyes off of the illustrations, I thought you might have been too.

If, by some chance, you do feel the same way, send me a comment below. Hope to hear from you soon.

I had to read through these a few times…then I started to laugh so hard, I cried. I especially love the bear suit one. Ha ha.

I really like the artist’s technique and style. Her depictions of “missed connections” give a sense of humor mixed with truth in real life situations, like the ones she illustrates so well. The portraits depict a sense of longing or almost sadness within each subject’s facial expressions. The words are poetic and give the characters in the works, a wonderful personality. She has a wonderful style and uniqueness in her ability to convey feelings within her art, by way of words and facial expressions.
