The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
I’ve been drawing inspiration from Megan of Another Day to Dress Up for a while now, so I’m excited to introduce her as our latest Blogger of the Moment! Megan has an eye for turning quirky thrift store steals into elegant ensembles. (In fact, her blog was one of the sites that inspired me to try out the pleated pants trend, which is why we’ve named a pair after her!)
Her blog reaffirms the fact that you don’t have to be in New York or L.A. to have amazing style (she lives in Utah); great style is found everywhere! Read her interview to find out more about this sartorial genius, and take a peek at her favorite ModCloth items.
Who are your style icons? What else inspires your sense of style?
I am a total impulse dresser. When I get dressed in the morning, the most inspiring thing is the clothing itself. I sift through my closet and wait for something to pop out at me, and then build my outfit from there. I never have an idea of what I’m going to wear, which is what makes my style so eclectic!
What blogs do you follow?
The one blog I check every morning is The Daily Puppy; it’s such a great way to start the day! As far as fashion blogs are concerned, I adore these girls: Fancy Treehouse, Fancy Fine, Gary Pepper Vintage, and Eli Presentacion.
If you could live in the pages of a book, or on the set of a movie, which book or movie would it be? Why?
Oh my, I am such a book worm; this is such a tough question! Was Milo and Otis ever a book? I’d like to hang out with them for a couple of weeks.
You call Park City, Utah, home. Any tips for trying out spring trends while being cold weather ready?
Layers, layers, layers. I wear so many of my summer/spring items in the winter by simply adding a turtleneck, jacket or tights–boots always help too. This technique makes it much easier to transition into the spring, because you are still utilizing items from past seasons! Layering is key when you live in cold weather, because once you step into a space that has heating, you have to be prepared to strip down in order to be comfortable.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world who would it be? What would eat?
Andy Rooney. We most likely wouldn’t end up eat anything, because he’s such a curmudgeon that he’d find twenty things wrong with the restaurant before the waiter took our order, and I would love every minute of it!
What would the perfect romantic date be for you?
I’m a simple person when it comes to romance. A romantic drive accompanied by a beautiful hike and picnic would be just perfect for me!
Do you blog full-time, or do you have a day job? What are your hobbies?
I currently manage my long time favorite boutique in Park City named Bunya Bunya. When I’m not working I’m hiking, reading, or thrift shopping!
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’m an avid collector of vintage animal portraits. I own over forty portraits and can never resist purchasing another one!
Do you have any secret dreams for the future?
Well, if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret, would it?
Don’t forget to check out all of Megan’s favorite ModCloth picks!
