The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
File this under “Things We Wish We’d Thought of Ourselves But Love Too Much to Really Care.” This week, our team is crushing on Industry of One, a newly hatched periodical that explores the relationship between our work and what we wear to it.
The site follows hip-lookin’ professionals from various industries for a week, photographing and interviewing them about the moments and wardrobe choices that make up the workweek. The hope, say Industry’s creators, is to capture “the relationship between one’s line of work [and] walk of life.” A lofty goal, but we think Industry does the job well.

This is such a novel idea. Being a college junior, I kind of dread the day I get a “real” job (or a job at all – fingers crossed!) because I don’t want fall into conventions of wearing boring old suits day in and day out. It’ll be nice to check out a periodical that includes real professionals who know how to dress uniquely and dress well!
Really cool idea, but they all look so angry! That’s why I like ModCloth, most everyone’s smiling. 🙂
Thanks for the kind words, Jenn!
They could follow me around. I’m a grad student, that’s an acceptable career alternative, right? 😉
Seriously though, it would be nice if they picked people with a greater variety of job types. Most of those people were designers or artists. It would be nice to see how engineers, accountants, and other professionals dressed for work.
In all seriousness though, it would be nice if they picked people with a greater variety of job types. Most of those people were designers or artists. It would be nice to see how engineers, accountants, and other professionals dressed for work.
