We love barbecue bashes and grilled, gourmet sammies as much as the next gal, but let’s be real: sometimes we just need a cupcake. Who do we look to when that sweet tooth just won’t leave us be? Bree, our terrifically talented graphic designer!
Flaunting her top-notch baking skills and knack for color and creativity, Bree gave us the step-by-step for a perfect Memorial Day dessert. Bring ’em to today’s picnic, or spend a rainy afternoon building these beauties in the kitchen. Wherever they’re enjoyed, these stacked cupcakes are destined to delight!
What You’ll Need:
6 vanilla cupcakes
6 chocolate cupcakes
Red icing pouch
Green icing pouch
Yellow icing pouch
Step 1: Easy as ‘Bun’, Two, Three
Gently slice the tops off of each vanilla cupcake to form the buns. Make sure it’s an even, horizontal cut, or else you’re in for a topsy-turvy burger!
Do the same with the chocolate cupcakes, but put their cupcake tops aside. You’ll only need the bottom halves for your patties, but those extra chocolate tops are certainly snack-worthy!
Step 2: Time for Toppings
After placing your chocolate sections on the bottom vanilla buns, let the condiments commence! Drizzle red icing for a ketchup-inspired base, yellow icing for mustard, and a thick layer of green icing as lettuce. The more icing, the better!
Step 3: The Finishing Touch
Place your vanilla cupcake tops on your freshly-iced patties, then sprinkle a light layer of sesame seeds atop your bun for darling detail.
Put it all together, and what do you get? The most adorable burger you’ve ever laid eyes on!
