Ah, the cranberry. Fruit of the fall. Champion of the Thanksgiving garnish, the ever-so-easy DIY stringed garland, and the lovable 1990s alternative band. Cranberries rule.

This season, we’re celebrating every Friday with cocktail recipes perfect for holiday gatherings. Today, we have a cranberry cocktail recipe that’s sweet, tart, and full of festive flavor. Basically, it’s Thanksgiving in cocktail form.

The Crangarita

What You’ll Need:
1/2 cup cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce tequila
1/2 ounce cointreau (triple sec could work, too)

How To:

  1. In a large cocktail shaker, combine the cranberry juice, lime juice, tequila, cointreau, and ice. Then, stir it up real good!
  2. Salt the rim of a lowball glass or tumbler. (That’s easy: just dip the rim of the glass in a saucer of water or lime juice. You could also slice a lime wedge and trace it around the rim of your glass. Then, dip the moistened rim in a shallow bowl of salt.)
  3. Pour the contents of the shaker into your glass.
  4. Garnish with a skewer of cranberries and a lime wedge.
