The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
Like to give unique gifts to your special someones? Recently, we visited two popular Pittsburgh craft fairs to explore what tantalizing options we have for handmade holiday gifts. The I Made It! shows periodically showcase local, hip crafters’ wares at various locations in the city. The annual Handmade Arcade is a huge gathering of crafters from the tri-state area. Both fairs showcased a plethora of gifts for everyone on our lists this year and we couldn’t wait to share them with you! Here are a few handmade gift suggestions:
Mom or Dad:
Hand-crocheted slippers by The Absolute Boar’s make an extra toasty gift! River Rats Designs’ wind chimes made from upcycled beach glass and driftwood are a natural and musical decoration for your parents’ porch.
Brother or Boyfriend:
Both Garbella and Psycho Reindeer offer t-shirts for your picky male counterpart. Also, a few crafters came up with the genius idea of melting vintage records and molding them into retro bowls the perfect shape for holding CDs or other small knick-knacks.
Sister or Girlfriend:
BarkerBell’s statement pendant necklaces and earrings are made with upcycled materials, including vintage Hollywood movie glamor pictures. For the girl who likes a little edge with her lace, try Spooky Kelly.
ryhmes with twee makes adorable handmade hats and handprinted onesies for wee ones. Children will also love running around in colorful, handmade felt and Velcro superhero capes and masks!
Boss or Office Mates:
Coasters made out of repurposed children’s books make wonderfully whimsical, nostalgic, and utilitarian gifts! Subu makes classy and unique upcycled notebooks for your note taking workmates, too.
Friends Who Use Soap:
Yes, this could be anyone and anyone will find it hard to resist the cassette tape shaped glycerin soaps by Stinky Bomb Soap!
