Skip harsh chemicals or solutions if you’re looking to give a piece of metal a beautiful verdigris tint. All you need is apple cider vinegar and non-iodized salt, both of which can easily be found at almost any market!
This recipe may seem too simple to be true, but it works. Simply combine three parts apple cider vinegar to one part non-iodized sea salt, submerge your metal for about 30 minutes, and let the metal dry. Repeat this process until your metal appears as aged as you would like.
For my Monserat De Lucca necklace, I did five to six applications spaced out over a two-day span to give it a mild verdigris tint. If you want yours to shine like the Statue of Liberty, then keep it up for a few more days!
