In this tutorial, we’re shrinking down Great White Sharks into marvelous miniatures you can wear as a necklace! Now, they may be small, but watch out — these fish are ready to cause a frenzy.

Check out the oh-so-easy way to wow during Shark Week below!

What You’ll Need:

  • Small rubber sharks (available at your local craft store)
  • Jewelry chain
  • 6mm split rings
  • 15 mm lobster clasps
  • Pliers
  • Safety pin

There are a lot of tiny pieces involved, so it’s a good idea to stay organized.

Step One

Using pliers, bend a split ring and loop through it the end of the lobster clasp. Then, add the lobster clasp to the end of chain, securing the split ring by squeezing it closed with the pliers.

Step Two

Use the safety pin to make a small hole in the shark’s fin. Loop a split ring through the hole and squeeze the ring closed again. Repeat this step using as many shark figurines as you’d like!

Step Three

With split rings attached to the sharks’ fins, they become the perfect little charms. Loop the rings through the links in the chain, and voilà!— a necklace that’s absolutely ‘fin-tastic’!

About Jordyn

When she's not yell-singing how she feels à la Linda Belcher, you can catch Jordyn obsessing over birds, bolo ties, and anything Sailor Moon. At her chillest, she’s watching David Attenborough documentaries or reorganizing her plants and tchotchkes for the 57th time.

I’d love to make this craft, but it seems like the most essential element–the tiny sharks–are the hardest to find. I doubt my local store has them, sadly. It’s too bad; I’ve always had a particular love for sharks!
