We’re in a full-on floral frenzy right now with petaled prints and flowery motifs that blossom with spring style.
In honor of this colorful collection, we’ve concocted a fragrant floral cocktail that’s a little sweet, a little citrusy, and a whole lot of pretty. It combines real violet flowers via an elixir, as well as sparkling water, vodka, and triple sec. Basically, what we’re saying is that this dreamy libation packs a delicious punch while making a seriously soft, pretty, and feminine impact on any table. Try it for happy hour at home with the girls, a bridal shower, a tea party, a garden soiree, or whatever event you’ve got coming up.
What You’ll Need
- 1.5 ounces vodka
- 1.5 ounces triple sec
- 1 ounce violet elixir
- 2 ounces sparkling water
- Small rose and garnish stick
This recipe is about as straightforward as they come! Combine all your liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake well and then strain into a martini glass. The triple sec adds a bit of citrus flair, the violet elixir adds an exotic floral taste while sweetening up the beverage, and the sparkling water gives the drink a bit of pizzazz.
For the garnish, pierce your rose just above the meaty base. Note that if you pierce too high, the garnish stick will distort the pretty, natural shape of the rose. Gently place the rose on the edge of your glass. (Fun fact: roses are edible, so they’re safe to include in a drink. Feel free to taste the petals — most taste like watery bits of salad, but it’s mostly there just to look pretty.)
