It’s that magical time of year again! That’s right — festival season has arrived. The lineups have been announced, tickets purchased, and plans made. Now, what to do with your tresses?

We would be remiss to not include a how-to guide on styling your hair with what’s become a style staple on the festival circuit: a floral crown.

Follow these simple steps to achieve a hair style that’s truly fit for royalty.

Step 1: Get It, ‘Curl’

On Katie, a Copy Strategist, we’ve separated and curled her gorgeous auburn hair in 1″ sections.

Step 2: ‘Crownin’ Around

Next, part the hair at the crown of the head (because that’s the way queens do it).

Place your favorite floral hair accessory under the part. We like the way this particular crown looks with the florals facing backward! When you bounce from one stage to the next, your fellow festival attendees will hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave.

Step 3: ‘Braid’ to Order

Divide the frontal portion of the hair into 2 sections. Braid each side of the hair and secure with an elastic band (preferably in a color that closely matches your own shade of hair).

A delicately detailed sundress for the street style photographers to obsess over? Totally optional, but highly recommended.

Step 4: Pinned to Perfection

Tuck the braided portion of hair behind the floral crown. For thicker hair types, a few bobby pins will ensure that your braids won’t slip out during an impromptu dance party.

Step 5: Side with Me

Mirror, mirror! Repeat step 5 on the opposite side of your head.

Step 6: Caught Up In Your Love ‘of Hair’

Run your hands through your hair to give the curls some extra volume and then set those lustrous locks into place with your favorite hair spray. Voila! Who says we’ll never be royals?
