Honey Kennedy’s Fave Looks from Classic Flicks

We invited Jen of fashion and lifestyle blog Honey Kennedy to round up some looks to mimic a few of her favorite classic-film stars. Take a peek for a little flick-inspired fun!

Funny Face (1957), starring Audrey Hepburn as Jo Stockton — “Before falling in love with Dick Avery (Fred Astaire), Jo was thrilled to go to Paris to meet her beatnik philosophy heroes. Getting her look is as easy as pairing together penny loafers, sunglasses, a turtleneck, solid pants, and a neutral coat. ”

Le Mépris (1963), starring Brigitte Bardot as Camille Javal — “I love BB’s character, Camille, in Le Mépris – especially this outfit. Here, she’s being snubbed by her man and she has a bit of a naive ‘bad girl’ thing going on. Mimic her look with an edgy jacket, striped top, pencil skirt, headscarf, bold makeup, and flats.”

Le Notti di Cabiria (1957), starring Giulietta Masina as Cabiria Ceccarelli — “Cabiria is such a sweet dreamer and so in love with love. She has terrible luck, but always manages to pick herself up. I love her cute night-on-the-town outfit! Style some faux fur with stripes, a skirt, chic accessories, and T-strap flats to look as sweet as she does, and make note to watch the American version, Sweet Charity, starring Shirley MacLaine, too!

“Some of these starring gals may have had better luck in love than others, but their characters were all passionate romantics regardless. Hear, hear to that!”
