The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!

We just got back from the annual Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference and book fair in Washington, D.C., and you would have loved it!
ModCloth was excited to share our collection of fashion-inspired creative writing, The Written Wardrobe, among hundreds of other journals and publishers at the massive book fair attended by students and professional writers. It was a delight to meet and network with fellow ModLovers and writers.
The competition and judges at Literary Death Match.
Our first event was the ModCloth-sponsored Literary Death Match, where The Written Wardrobe’s own David Wanczyk took the medal in a rousing competition of poetry and prose. We then threw a wonderful reading and party at Chief Ike’s Mambo Room. Many of The Written Wardrobe contributors, including Kyoko Mori, Jenny Sadre-Orafai, and Anne Barngrover, read their pieces to an enthralled crowd. Later, raffle prizes were won by enthusiastic guests.
As you can see, the hustle and bustle of the conference was invigorating!
It was great to meet individuals from the Washington D.C. ModCloth community as well as the writers that we’ve spent the last year working with via e-mail.
Panelists from left to right, Julia DiNardo of Fashion Pulse Daily, ModCloth Creative Director Molly Prosser, and Amber Oakley from Zappos.
Check back Wednesday to read about our successful presentation and discussion at the AWP, “What Are You Wearing?: Exploring the Emerging Genre of Fashion Writing.” Thank you for everyone’s support and compliments throughout the conference. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Don’t forget that you can submit to next year’s issue. Tell us what you think about this first issue of The Written Wardrobe!
Fun to see you lovely ModClothers here in my home town! Hip Hip Hooray! Oh and rumor has it some of those “enthusiastic guests” would love to see pics of the fashiontastic ladies and gents they got to chat and dance with at Chief Ikes. Okay… maybe it’s not a rumor, I just want to see!
My professor was at that conference! He’s gonna help me edit my submission to the next Written Wardrobe!
Looks like a fantastic event! Thanks, Modcloth, for not being just a store, but an evolving force for all things creative. Fantastic.
