The Written Wardrobe: "Home Sewn"

The following excerpt from The Written Wardrobe shows how one author turns memories of clothing into poetry.

From Angelle Scott’s “Home Sewn”:

“…I admired her,
twirled about in the miniskirt she crafted for me out of leftover turkey red twill,
traced my finger along the rotary cutter’s spikes, sat at her feet, cut patterns
that I would sew for my Cabbage Patch Kid, using her pinking shears.”
