The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
In celebration of National Adopt-A-Cat Month, we’re switching things up with our regularly scheduled ModDog post. Of course, everyone is familiar with the bevy of hounds that keep our ModEmployees company throughout the workday, but what about that other faction of animal companions that (so unjustly) must be left at home? You know what I’m talking about: The ModCats. Purring ever-so-subtly behind the scenes, these fine felines may lay low, but that doesn’t mean they’re not just as stylish (even more-so, they’d argue) as the dogs.
One such cat is Zephyr. Boasting his own Instagram hashtag (like any legit cat these days), some pretty impressive whiskers (if he does say so himself), and a playful personality to boot, this formerly feral feline now lives a life of contentment with our Editorial Specialist, Julie. “My mom found him and his brother living in a stone wall in my home state of Maine,” Julie says, “they were tiny, very feisty, and only a few weeks old.”
“We joke that Zeph isn’t cut out for feral living. He practically jumped into my mothers arms when she found him and let her carry him home!” adds Julie. “Seven years later, he’s still a snuggler and loves to hang around when we have people over, though his favorite place at home is exactly where he isn’t supposed to be: the counter, which is — unfortunately — the perfect place to bird-watch.” Described as “friendly, uncommonly involved in our lives, and excessively curious” by Julie, Zephyr enjoys the finer things in life when he’s not getting booted off the counters or stalking tennis balls (his toy of choice). “Zeph loves cat grass. To the point that we had to hang the plant up high so he can’t get to it.”
“While finding a cat on the side of the road isn’t what you’d normally think of as a traditional animal adoption, we can’t picture our lives without him,” says Julie “but it’s important to always take a found animal to the vet to get them checked out first, it could be someone’s pet, they could be sick and in need of treatment, or they could just be your new best friend — who knows!”
Awwww Zephyr is adorable! Thank you for supporting adoption! We should have more kitty posts!!!! 😀
