Music Heard Around the World

What is a celebration – especially one of global proportions – without a playlist? Every now and then we feature music from up-and-coming artists, like Tennis from Massachusetts to mixes made just for merriment – such as our post, Bands Inspired by Mythical Beings.

To accompany our One Stylish World Celebration, we put together a mixtape of some of our favorite overseas jams from the Australian Phoebe Killdeer & The Short Straws to France’s Melanie Pain (formerly a voice of Nouvelle Vague). Profitez bien!

Who would you add to our playlist? Tell us, we’re all ears!

I agree about Washington, but also Jinja Safari from Oz, they are only new but I love their music.

I also love Frightened Rabbit from Scotland!

Totally agree with the Frightened Rabbit! (my favorite band) Dappled Cities Fly from Australia is great. And Gogol Bordello is a like a world tour in itself! And you can never go wrong with French Yelle

Also Beirut is influenced by French, Mexican, and Dutch folk music. An interesting multicultural melange
