Preceded by alt-folk act The Chapin Sisters, She & Him rocked Cleveland’s House of Blues this past Thursday. With a photo pass to a camera-free show, we were able to snap some exclusive shots of She & Him, from Zooey’s rockin’ dress to a candid close-up of M.Ward! For me, the best part was the finale–a cover of Cleveland native Screamin Jay Hawkins’ “I Put A Spell On You” which I found a live recording of, and you can find at the bottom of this post!
Zooey looked poised and stunning as usual in a geometric, bohemian halter dress with tights and cowboy boots.
The Chapin Sisters assisted with back-up vocals on select She & Him songs.
Zooey’s musical partner, M. Ward.
Is anyone else planning on seeing She & Him this summer? Or, if you’ve already seen them, what did you think?
I love Zooey & M. Ward..he’s a part of one of my other musical loves, Monsters of Folk. I wish I could see them, but I don’t think they will be anywhere near Memphis!
They were great at Bonnaroo last week the couple songs that I caught. Its always amazing to me when an artist can sound better live than on CD and she definitely falls into that category! Thanks for sharing the video – gave me chills!
I’m so excited they’re coming to Salt Lake City for a free concert in July! What on earth am I wearing?!
I LOVE Zooey. She is so adorable and talented. And She & Him makes the greatest music!
I love She & Him, and Zooey Deschanel is so beautiful, quirky, funny, and talented! I wish they’d come to Sacramento!
I love them both! M. Ward is amazing on his own, and then you pair him with Zooey it is truly perfect!
I’m seeing She & Him AGAIN 4th of July weekend. Only bumming that The Chapin Sisters aren’t opening the show. Thought the pairing at The Bowery in March was perfect. M. Ward is just always tasteful as hell. I was surprised that Zooey sang so well and owned the stage. I know, I doubted. I was wrong to. She & Him are real and so much fun! The perfect Summer show (and record).
i just saw she & him at sasquatch festival in washington and they were amazing! zooey was wearing that EXACT same outfit! loved it then — love it now!!!
Oh my god! I love She & Him. In July I’m seeing them in New York at Terminal 5!!!!!
Aw. I saw She& Him in an Oakland performance a few weeks ago. They were amazing. There were two encores. Their cover of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Would You Like to Take a Walk?”, that Zooey dedicated to her parents that were in the audience, was my favorite.
Saw them front row in Northampton, MA after Volume One came out- such a great show! Seeing them July 1st in Boston- can’t wait!
I was there! I took my youngest cousin and her friend with me for their first concert and we had a blast!
I saw them in Oregon! They were fantastic. Zooey is adorable live, not to mention a very snazzy dresser.
I’m seeing them in DC on July 7th! So excited! I love Zooey.
saw them in KOKO london, really amazing gig. theres not much good and interesting new projects in music at the moment. glad at least she & him are.
I saw them in Santa Cruz on the first day of the tour. They were absolutely amazing. By the time they performed I put a spell on you (AMAZING) it was the third encore, and almost everyone had left. so glad i stayed!
for everyone who hasn’t seen them yet, make sure to stay seated until the lights go all the way up
That is the same dress she wore when they played Sasquatch on May 31st ..
I just saw them at Bonnaroo! It was a great show!!
I LOVE She & Him! 🙂
I love them! Found out about the Oregon concert too late though… so sad.
I completely fell in love with She & Him last June with their debut album Volume One. The only thing that’s perturbing is all the Katy Perry comparaisons, but thankfully Zooey is the real thing
I saw them at Coachella in April, and they were AMAZING! Zooey sounds even better live than on the albums. They also ended the show with I Put A Spell On You (mesmerizing!), and she looked adorable as usual.
I’m seeing them perform this upcoming week and can’t wait! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
