Style Soundtrack: Road Trip Edition

If you’re anything like us  here at ModCloth, then you probably find preparing for a road trip as enjoyable as actually embarking on one. Perhaps the two most important –  and fun! – parts about gearing up for a highway adventure are planning your outfits and putting together playlists to sing along with as you cruise the interstates and meander through winding backroads. To give you a little inspiration for your next trip, and in honor of this week’s Name It and Win It contest (only 7 hours left to enter!), we put together our own little soundtrack of trends and tunes. Side A features a well-mapped outfit put together by ModStylist, Jessie, while our Side B brings you a collection of some of our favorite road-tested songs.

Side A

Track 1: DDR Tee
If you own an Audi, BMW, or Porsche, just think to yourself that ‘DDR’ really stands for ‘Drive Drive Revolution.’

Track 2Dream Weaver Train Scarf
Okay, so trains may not travel down roads, but they do consist of a connected series of vehicles called railroad cars. And when you’ve got the top down in your convertible, this scarf will come in handy for holding your hair in place!

Track 3Poconos Jumper
If your final destination is this mountainous region in Eastern Pennsylvania, then this jumper should attract as many ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhhs’ as the vista from the highest summit,  Elk Hill’s North Knob.

Track 4: 88mph Sunglasses
We all feel the need for speed sometimes, but we recommend slowing down to enjoy the scenery!

Track 5: Around the World Tote
You have to carry all your snacks  in something, so it may as well be in a bag that looks well-traveled.

Track 6: Don’t Come Walking Boot
Because we’re going driving!

Side B
Now that we’re all revved up and ready to go, let’s push the play button on this mix we made!

What songs do you like to listen to during roadtrips? Let us know!

(Before checking to see who made this post) I saw Brian Jonestown on the playlist and thought: I bet it was the fella who did this post!

Anything and everything Third Eye Blind. I remember when my family took a road trip to Yellowstone when I was in high school. I loaded Third Eye Blind’s self-titled album into my portable CD player and put it on repeat the whole 28 hr drive to Wyoming, as well as the 28 hr drive home!

All great songs but I need songs with more energy. Mika and Gogol Bordello are a must!
