With 4th of July just a few days away, we thought it was only appropriate to start thinking about which patriotic desserts you should dive into over the holiday weekend (it’s the least we could do). And since light and fluffy sweets are a top pick during the summer, we found the perfect fit: red, white, and blue angel food cake from the team at Skinny Mom.

Sold? Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:
16 oz Betty Crocker angel food cake
1 oz box Jell-O® Cheesecake Fat-Free/Sugar-Free Pudding
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 – 8 oz container Cool Whip® Free Whipped Topping
1 pint fresh blueberries (2 cups)
1 pint fresh strawberries, halved (2 cups)

4th of july dessert

I love mod cloth, and follow your blog, but find it disappointing when you basically advertise for awful companies like betty crocker in your recipes. It’s disheartening because it makes me wonder if you profit from it, and also because it essentially promotes the ignorance is bliss lifestyle that such companies want people to continue to live, rather than caring about where their food comes from, and if it contains GMOs.
