Ever been to a double wedding? Probably not — they’re pretty uncommon these days! In the age of Bridezillas and Platinum Weddings, sharing the spotlight on one’s special day is a rarity indeed. Perhaps this is why, when Graphic Designer Bree told us her grandmother was married in a double ceremony, we couldn’t wait to see some photos!

On July 11th, 1954, Bree’s grandmother and her sister married a set of brothers in a double wedding. Wanna see some gorgeous black and white photos from their big day? Let’s take a peek at the beautiful wedding of Shirley and George (and Marylou and Otie)…

Nope, you’re not seeing double — Shirley and Marylou look like twins in their matching dresses, but they’re not!

Putting on the finishing touches in tandem.

Two cakes are always better than one in our book!

The car shot is too cute, right? Both couples have now been happily married for 61 years, and they celebrate every anniversary together!

Fresh flowers, floral print dresses, and a good gin and tonic are just a few of her favorite things.

I can’t handle the cuteness!! There’s no way my sisters and I would agree on a dress – our style is SO different! – but how precious is this??!!

Agreed with the other commenters. This is the most adorable thing ever! I love that they STILL celebrate together, today 61 years later! <3
