These Hot No-Fire S’mores Guarantee You’ll Have a Killer Summer

Admit it: The only reason we even prepare food is so we can share our creations on Instagram, right?

So if you want to have the most photogenic dish at your next potluck, check out this recipe for success. What looks like a super-complicated dessert actually only takes a few ingredients and little under 30 minutes to make. These no-fire s’mores are so simple, they’re practically Pinterest fail-proof! We dare you — try them out and share your results with us @ModCloth on Instagram, or by putting a link in the comments. Here’s how to get started:

No-Fire Boomf Marshmallow S’mores
One Boomf package contains 9 marshmallows, order yours here!

One package Boomf (9 marshmallows). Win a free credit from Boomf by leaving a comment on our Instagram post right now! (Ends 7/2, 4 PM PT)
Bowl of crumbled graham crackers (about 4 crackers)
4 oz. melted chocolate
Dash of olive oil, for melting chocolate
Foil fringe toothpicks, or other festive skewers for serving

Step 1:  Order your Boomf marshmallows! You’ll want to give yourself about a week for delivery. They’re out of London, so if you’re in the U.S., delivery might take about a week or more. The most fun part is picking out the Instagram photos that you want printed on your marshmallows! We’re a fashion company, so of course ours are bite-sized style snapshots taken from the ModCloth Instagram.

Step 2: Prep your ingredients. Crush your graham crackers to a fine crumble, and melt your chocolate. There are many ways to melt chocolate. Over a double boiler is one option, but we went the easiest route by melting the chocolate chips in the microwave. The trick to getting the perfect microwave melt: Add in about a 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil to the chips, and wait no longer than 30 seconds to stir. Depending on the power of your microwave, this could be all the time that you need. Stir the chocolate, and if there are a few chunks, they’ll likely melt completely once you’ve stirred it evenly.

Step 3: Dip about half of your marshmallow in the melted chocolate.

Step 4: Immediately move the chocolate-covered marshmallow above the graham cracker bowl and generously sprinkle the graham crumbs while the chocolate is still fresh. To get thicker graham coverage, roll the freshly chocolate-covered marshmallow in in the graham crumbles.

Step 5: Place the dipped and graham-covered marshmallows on a piece of wax paper. This will keep the chocolate from sticking to the surface while it drys.

Step 6: Just ‘skew’ it! You can choose any kind of skewer to serve your mallows with, or just serve them plain. To go along with the 4th of July theme, we stuck with “foil fringe toothpicks” which you can find at your local party store, or online.

Step 7: Enjoy being the coolest person at the potluck with your photogenic s’mores!

I’d rather sit by a campfire, with family and friends, and make “real” s’mores. Yours are no fun to make, you’re all by yourself instead of with friends and they’re too foo-foo.
