Few things are cuter than a cartoon inspired by a delicious dessert. As the original theme song goes, she sleeps, wakes, works and plays in “a cake made of strawberries” and “greets each day with a berry glow.” We’re talking about the one and only Strawberry Shortcake, of course, which debuted originally in the 1980s.

Such cuteness deserves to be heralded, and we’re doing so by way of a picture tribute to the original classic. Sit back, grab a few strawberries for snacking, and revel in the cuteness that is Strawberry Shortcake.

Let’s start with the original cartoon theme song. So adorable!

About Wendy

Wendy Rose Gould is a latte-loving, vintage-collecting, cat-adoring beauty and fashion writer whose work has appeared both online and in print. While she grew up in urban Indiana surrounded by horse buggies and corn fields, she's since moved west to Phoenix (after a stint in South Korea) where cacti and haboobs reign supreme. Wendy believes a woman should never leave the house without enviable hair and a spritz of her staple perfume. And also mascara. Never leave the house without mascara.
