The Jolly Postcard: Vintage Mail Mementos

Even if you live in a city more vibrant than a Cirque du Soleil finale, it’s easy to feel confined when warm weather struts into town. If only we could write off our desk duties – be them school- or work-related – in favor of a little traveling!

While physically ferrying off to faraway places isn’t always an option, these vintage postcards help a hard-at-work gal such as yourself take a mini, mental vacation. Your imagination may dive into the surfer-strewn waves of Hawaii or hop into one of those tail-fin-flaunting cars in the Tijuana postcard below and drive off into the butterscotch sunset.

This is awesome! The Tijuana card is bringing back memories; it hadn’t changed much back when I used to live in San Diego and go there.

I love collecting old postcards of places I’ve been or lived, framing them, and putting them in my house. There are three old Oakland postcards at home right now, waiting to be framed!
