Boppin’ Around Brighton with Yours Truly, x

Are you dreaming of a holiday by the sea? Well, we’re packing our scarves and mittens, and traveling to the charming city of Brighton, England for an enchanting adventure! Get captivated by the city, as blogger Kerry of Yours Truly, x shows us breathtaking seascapes, delectable treats, and vintage treasures throughout the town. So, grab your cute walking flats, and we’ll meet you on the pier! Don’t forget your camera!

Our tour guide sports the Living Pouf Dress, Talking Picture Flat, Flurries and Flourishes Tights, and Love from All Around Necklace.

1. Beyond Retro. “Originally from Stockholm, Beyond Retro is now one of England’s most loved vintage chains, with several stores around London and one in Brighton. Expect fun, reasonably priced vintage spanning from the ’40s to the ’90s. You can pick up a ball gown and neon cycling shorts all in one place! The staff dress impeccably and are really friendly, and they always have great music playing for you to shop to!”

2. Cafe Motu. “This is where my boyfriend and I love to share our Sunday morning breakfast! We read the weekend papers, listen to the retro music playing in the background and scoff down the delicious, home cooked breakfasts! A real treat every time we visit!”

3. Brighton’s street markets. “Brighton is notorious for its fabulous street markets and organic produce. You can pick up anything from these markets, which spring up all over at the weekends! From taxidermy, furniture, clothing or just some tasty locally produced carrots for your dinner, there’s bound to be something you fancy!”

4. Scoop & Crumb. “Scoop & Crumb is an adorable little ice cream parlour just off of the sea front, serving organic home-made ice creams and mouth-wateringly tasty cakes. Perfect for a little rest after shopping yourself silly! The ‘Fresh Banana Chocolate Crunch’ is my personal favorite!”

5. Snoopers Paradise. “Never has a shop been so aptly named! This place is heavenly! Stall after stall of vintage, antiques and unusual finds from days gone by, this indoor flea market always comes up trumps! My boyfriend and I love nothing better than a post-breakfast rummage, and now they’ve opened the attic up too (Snoopers Attic) with specialised vintage clothing and independent labels to be found up there… A must for any vintage lover!”

6. The Lanes. “Arguably, the heart of Brighton! Too many incredible boutiques and cafes and shops to photograph them all, but if you find yourself in Brighton, head straight to the Lanes!”

7. The Mock Turtle. “Deriving its name from Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland,’ this adorable little tea shop is ideal for the mad hatters amongst us! Beautiful mismatched china and homemade cakes make it the perfect place to while away the afternoon…”

8. The Pavilion. “So iconic is the Pavilion silhouette that it’s even featured on the Council recycling bins! For lovers of history or fine architecture this really is a must! Guided tours within show the beautiful, elaborate decor, and in winter there is an ice rink and cafe set up outside! Even a stroll around the surrounding Pavilion Gardens can make for a delightful afternoon!”

9. The Pier. “How could you possibly come to Brighton and not visit the world famous pier? With amusements, arcades, fairground rides and food stalls, there is just too much to do! Just wrap up warm in the winter months…These English winters are chilly!”

Have you been to Brighton before?

brighton is wonderful! the pavilion is super ornate and ridiculous in the best possible way. i also remember the audio tour being especially silly. they also have cut little cut-outs at the pier that you can stick your head through and take pictures with!

I had the pleasure of studying abroad in Sussex, and Brighton was just 20 min of bus away from the university. I passed by the Pavilion every week and grew to love love the tea at Mock Turtle (the shop has another floor, and it was decked out in whimsical vintage style). This city is a must for any visitor in England!
