Show & Tell: Workshop SF

From Fire Escape Farming to Heavy Metal Aerobics, DIY school Workshop SF has been wooing Bay Area craft fanatics since its doors opened in 2009. Founder and Owner Kelly Malone dishes on how Workshop came to be, what went right along the way, and lets us scope out her space.

About Laura

With a passion for events, interviews, and her pet aloe plants, Laura strives to live in a world where writing poetry evokes celebrity status. When she's not planning her apartment's next face-lift, she's either befriending strangers or admiring maps. She has an MFA in Creative Writing, is a member of ModCloth's Charitable Giving Committee, and is an avid appreciator of funky hairstyles and too-hot sauces.

GAHHHHH! This is SO COOL. I really hope this becomes a nation-wide phenomenon. We need some in Oregon- they would do so well here in Eugene! I have been wishing for a place like this for YEARS. Literally – since I was 8 and found my dad’s library of DIY carpentry. Keep up the amazing work, Kelly! Your country needs you!
