Upgrade Your Breakfast Game with Bloody Mary Waffles

In honor of National Waffle Day, I thought, what better way to celebrate than to coat the starchy, grilled goodness with one of my favorite libations: the Bloody Mary! Waffles on their own are good, but waffles slathered in cocktail-inspired cream cheese? Even better. (Hey, I’ll take any chance I can get to experiment in the kitchen.)

Ingredients

Ingredients (to evenly coat 2 waffles):
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp cream cheese
1 tsp horseradish
Dash of hot pepper sauce (to taste)
2-3 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
Pinch of salt
Squeeze of lemon juice (it’s all very technical)

Garnish:
Avocado
Cucumber slices

bowl

Once you have your selected ingredients in a bowl, start whisking. When the last of the cream cheese curds are smoothed into submission, spread the custom mix onto your waffles and lay out your chosen garnish. You can try a bed of sprouts and arugula, or, if you’re feeling fancy, you could try salmon, capers, and a fried egg.
