What a Card: Awe-Inspiring Vintage Thanksgiving Cards

When I think of Thanksgiving, I picture gleefully drowning myself in sweet potatoes and vulturing upon a mess o’ turkey and gravy. I don’t think of sending people cards because really, who’s ever heard of Thanksgiving cards? I certainly haven’t…or hadn’t, rather, until I came upon this collection of vintage ones. With their quaint wording, occasionally in poem form, and turkey-tickled images, these cards inspire me to send out some Thanksgiving thoughts to friends and family, because there’s no better time than Turkey Day to show people you’re thankful for them!

Have you ever heard of, sent, or received, a Thanksgiving card?

Oh, My! these are lovely! Nope, never sent a Thanksgiving “card”, but I’ve sent Thanksgiving invitations, does that count? 😉

My first job was at a huge antique mall. I’ve been collecting postcard for years and the ones I find for the holidays are some of my favorites. And some of the most bizarre. Which is why they are my favorites. So it goes!
