With an overwhelming 42 percent of your votes, it’s clear that your favorite fashions are inspired by the ’50s! The ’20s and ’70s trailed far behind, tied for second place, with 18 percent of your votes. The ’80s followed in third, and the list was rounded out with a small minority favoring the present! We took your cue in our newest series of Latest Looks. Just check out these awesome ’80’s inspired outfits!

I’m not sure what happened to the 60s in your poll, but they really inspire my style. I love the mod styles and Jackie Kennedy look. Very clean, chic, and classic.

Where did the 60’s go? Betty Draper FTW!

  3. Brooke 06/13/2011 at 10:53 am #

I personally love the 20s, 50s 60s and the 80s. The 90s was my era however each decade has a brilliant contribution to fashion. Some better than others 🙂

  7. Brooke 06/13/2011 at 11:37 am #

I totally agree with Morgan. Jackie Kennedy was a major trend setter for the early 60s and should continue being a trend setter today <3 She was stunning, chic, classic and clean…

I love the 50s, I agree 100%! Second most for me is the 30s/40s…why weren’t those included?

  9. anastasia 06/13/2011 at 12:07 pm #

Excuse me? 1940s! Shoulda been an option! The best era for fashion.

That aside, 60s. Mostly for decor, clothing was often so uncomfortable looking.

  10. Caitlin 06/13/2011 at 12:10 pm #

I love the 50s/60s. I would love to dress up like the characters in Mad Men everyday.

  11. Jessica 06/13/2011 at 1:18 pm #

    What happened to the 60s??

  12. Megan 06/13/2011 at 1:32 pm #

Where are the 30’s and 40’s!? I think these two periods have some seiously inspiring trends we should look at. I do agree though, the fifties are great, along with the 60’s that should deffinetly be up there too!

  13. Victoria/Justice Pirate 06/13/2011 at 3:27 pm #

where are the 40s? that’s my favorite!

  14. Antoinette 06/13/2011 at 4:09 pm #

I have been a very big advocate on the ’50s! I’m glad I am not alone. Though I must say, I am a bit surprised that the ’60s didnt make it. They are a close second!

why did everyone forget the 60s? this is MODcloth as in mod fashion! The 60s was the greatest decade for fashion

  16. Erin 06/13/2011 at 4:16 pm #

I kind of hate a lot of things about the nineties, but I like a lot of other things. And where is Mod Sixties on here? Anyways, I think I would have chosen ’80s, though I do love the ’20s.

  17. Katie 06/13/2011 at 4:17 pm #

I agree with the poll. 50s are the best!!!! Second place for me is the 20s.

  18. Anna 06/13/2011 at 4:59 pm #

I love the ’50s, and my second favorite is the ’20s flapper style.

  19. Chloe Mae 06/13/2011 at 6:08 pm #

Give me some 60’s please! it’s the perfect balance of the proper 50’s, rocker 60’s, and entering into the hippie 70’s….it’s my favorite era because of the variety!

  20. Alyssa 06/13/2011 at 6:17 pm #

    I agree! 60’s please 🙂

  21. Caroline 06/13/2011 at 11:54 pm #

    i actually love the 20’s 30’s and 40’s

  22. Jo - Lost in the Haze 06/14/2011 at 12:40 am #

Oh goodness, isn’t it hard to choose? I’m tossed up between 60s and 80s! I love 60s mini dresses with long sleeves, but am a sucker for showy pieces from the 80s (complete with glitter!)

  23. Shelby 06/14/2011 at 12:48 am #

While I love all past eras (almost) equally, I have to say I love the present most. We can wear all past eras! Whoo-Hoo!

  24. Chelsea 06/14/2011 at 12:03 pm #

Umm my favorite eras aren’t listed: the 30s and 40s!

  25. Brielle 06/14/2011 at 1:36 pm #

I’m in a play called The Pastor right now that my sister wrote (the true story of Richard Wurmbrand, it’s a really neat story) and the time era ranges from the 30s-50s. This is the 2nd day of dress rehearsal and I LOVE al the costumes! They are super chic.

I’ve been inspired by almost all of the 20th Century, from 1900 to the 1960’s. However, if I were to pick my favorite decade, I’d choose the 1920’s. The 1920’s are deeply rooted in our culture and our mythos. Many of the colloquialisms we use today are derived from flapper slang, and the aesthetic revolutions of the day are still very influential on our present-day semiotic structures and cultural assumptions. But superficially, I love short hair, finger waves, dramatic eyes, drop waist dresses, and Prohibition-era cocktails.

I’m just going to add my voice to the pool of all those who asked what on earth happended to the ’60s. Simple as that.

  28. Brittan-Morgan 06/15/2011 at 1:27 pm #

I’m a 20’s girl all the way. I should have been a flapper, but I also love the 30’s and am surprised they weren’t on the list.

  29. Sarah 06/15/2011 at 6:47 pm #

Um 60s? Best fashion decade EVER! Beginning of the decade was proper 50s, middle was mod and end was the beginning of the hippie movement! Versatile and amazing…

  30. BurlyQLady 06/16/2011 at 12:26 pm #

I’m confused. What happened to the 30s,40s and 60s? Yes, I do love the 50s. I can’t wear the 20s or most of the 30s fashion but I love the deco style to decorate with.
The 40s and 50s are right up my alley and so are the 60s.

  31. Sophie 06/16/2011 at 5:58 pm #

I do like the 50s! The silhouettes were very feminine. The 60s are cool too though, because as a poster said above, style changed so rapidly through the decade! The 50s style has also been getting more press lately because of Mad Men (even though they’re in the 60s)

  32. jamie 06/19/2011 at 8:22 pm #

    I love the 30s! My other favs are 20s, 40s, &50s.

  33. Ellie 06/19/2011 at 11:15 pm #

where did the 40’s and 60’s go? they’re my favorite!

  34. Jessica 06/26/2011 at 3:26 am #

Where was the “all” option? 😉 Also, I agree, the 30’s, 40’s, and 60’s are sorely missed.
