The Style Gallery is a great new way for you to view, love, and share outfit photos. It’s meant to showcase all the expressive, creative, and inspirational personalities of our community!
Natalie grew up in Hermitage, PA, and first began modeling in high school for local boutiques in order to receive discounts on her prom and homecoming dresses.
But she also told me about her real first modeling experience…
“When my brother, sister and I were young, my dad was in the Gulf War. There was a fashion show in our local mall for Kaufmann’s Dept. Store benefiting the war. It was the early 90s, so we had these ridiculous jumpers on with huge puffy sleeves and a floral print (apparently they were in style.) They sent my sister, brother and I down the runway holding hands. My brother was really little and there was music playing and so many people that he got really excited and started dancing like a mad man at the front of the runway! Everyone was laughing and he was jerking my sister and I all around. To make matters even more embarrassing, the next day there was a huge photo of the whole incident on the front page of the newspaper!”

Today, Natalie is the Communications Coordinator at DSN Innovations in Pittsburgh, where she handles their website, public relations & graphic designs. In her spare time, she also interns for Pop City, a weekly e-magazine featuring the communities and news of Pittsburgh.
When she first moved to Pittsburgh, Natalie signed a contract with The Talent Group. But ironically, most of her Pittsburgh modeling jobs have been from word of mouth. She currently models exclusively for clothing boutiques in the area. “I have found that is what I really enjoy, and people are just so awesome to work with.”

Here’s how Natalie became a ModCloth model: “I was dancing with my best friend at Brillobox, when Susan gave me her card and asked that Brandy and I model! We were really excited and did a shoot together. It was a lot of fun.”
Natalie’s future plans include moving away from Pittsburgh to experience other cities and jobs within her field. But, she plans to eventually move back to the ‘Burgh. “I love this city, and I grew up here!” she said.
