Meet Loren!

You’ve seen them sporting all of your favorite ModCloth styles, but the girls on your computer screen have always remained a mystery…until now!  Most of our models are not professionals, so we thought it would be cool to shed some light on what its like to be a ModModel and more importantly, what the girls do when they’re not in front of the lens.  In an ongoing segment, we’ll find out some fun facts about each of our lovely models. First of all, let’s…

Meet Loren!

Loren has been a ModModel for two years ( longer than any of our other models), so she is certainly one of the site’s most familiar faces.  She is a third-year graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University where she studies Costume Design.  She’s currently the costume designer for CMU’s main-stage production of the musical Into the Woods.  After graduation, she plans to move to LA or New York City.  Her dream job would be to work on a Wes Anderson film or to be the next Gregg Barnes (a Tony award-winning costume designer). No matter what,  you’re bound to see Loren’s name in the credits or on a playbill in a few years.

Tampa Bay, Florida.

Typical weekend:

Loren says she typically works  in the costume shop or does homework for about six hours a day on the weekends.  She also likes being outside, going shopping and to shows, and going dancing as much as she can.

Loren’s Favorite…

ModCloth Item:

“The Sloane Boot” (Coming Soon!)

Loren says she’s been listening to a lot of 90’s bands lately, like Counting Crows. She also likes Swedish musicians, such as Jens Lekman.

Willow, Hook, Labyrinth, Moulin Rouge (for the costumes), The Science of Sleep, Bottle Rocket.

Loren says she grew up on Lord of the Rings and also likes The Unbearable Lightness of Being and The Giving Tree.

Karaoke Song:

“Wild Horses” The Rolling Stones

Rock Band song and specialty:

“Roxanne”-The Police, on drums.  Loren has been described by those who know her as “a Rock Band fanatic.”

Keep checking in for more profiles of the girls who wear first the clothes you love best!
